Dear friends,
It doesn’t seem so long ago that I was always off on some cruise ship, exploring the world. But as we’ve all experienced, much has changed since 2020. I’m glad to know that the cruise lines are finally getting back on their feet, but in the meantime, I have found that I can do rather well on land, and that I’m very much enjoying it. So I don’t have any plans to go back to sea in the near or longer term future.
Besides finding work in some excellent restaurants as a pianist, I have formed a trio called the Alley-Gators. We specialize in New Orleans based “Rock & Soul”, featuring such New Orleans artists as Dr. John, Fats Domino, Huey Piano Smith, Ernie K-Doe, Allen Toussaint, and many more, and with a liberal dose of New Orleans piano.
I also have the pleasure of performing with Sybil Gage and her Royal Catahoulas a number of times a month, which I love! This New Orleans Native has a wonderful repertoire of old New Orleans Jazz and blues songs, and she sings them beautifully and with a passion. I am having so much fun with this!
